Before diving into real estate, my heart belonged to the world of public relations and marketing. My first PR class ever was the day after Britney Spears' infamous VMA performance in 2007.
The professor came into class labeling the performance a PR disaster. She dedicated that day’s lesson plan to the damage control Britney’s PR team would need to take to restore her image to the Queen of Pop. Just like that, I fell in love with the world of Public Relations, Marketing, and Branding. Making it my major for my undergraduate degree.
Before going into real estate full time, I worked in strategic communications and marketing for seven years. My experience in this background has been incredibly beneficial. These skill sets are the backbone of real estate.
In real estate, you need to stand out amongst the competition. Not just as an agent, but also when selling a property, ensuring your listings stand out amongst all others. That when buyers have multiple properties to choose from, it's your listing that they decide to buy.
You have to think about who the ideal buyer will be, and who will be most likely to pay a premium for the property. As well as the best way to reach them. I love bringing a listing to life – the photos, the video, the marketing, the ad campaigns, writing copy. All of it. It’s my favorite part of the job.
